Half-memories in other languages
You can describe what you remember in the language you remember it in. Search Fragments searches sources in that language too.
Search Fragments is a free, non-commercial prototype. No account needed. It works on half-remembered songs, films, books, TV, people, historical events, inventions, sport, places, art and culture, and it can also check a specific claim.
Example queries
Written in the way people usually describe these things:
- “latviešu filma par puisi, kurš aiziet karā (a Latvian film about a boy who goes to war)”
- “une chanson française des années 60 sur un poinçonneur de métro (a 60s French song about a metro ticket puncher)”
- “una película donde una niña encuentra un fauno durante la guerra (a film where a girl meets a faun during a war)”
How to ask
- Write in whichever language the memory is in. Mixing languages is fine.
- Add the country or region if you know it.
- Keep names in their original spelling if you remember them.
- Describe what you remember in your own words. Partial and uncertain clues are fine.
- Say which details you are sure of and which are guesses.
- In Claude or Cursor, ask your assistant to use Search Fragments, for example: “Use Search Fragments to find …”.
- You get a named answer with a source, a ranked shortlist to check by eye, or an honest no-resolution. It is built to decline rather than guess.
